Officer Hub
Set up your local
Work through the president’s setup checklist: your local’s details, the tools you turn on, and who to invite first. Each step can wait.
- Who can do this
- The local president, or an officer the president has delegated setup to.
When a president accepts their invite, the Officer Hub opens on Set up your local. Basic setup has three steps and takes about fifteen minutes. You can stop at any point with Save and exit and pick up again from the home page with Continue local setup.
Step 1: Your local

Check that the union, local number and collective agreement groups are right. They come from your invite, so you cannot change them here. If something is wrong, choose Get help with your local details and tell Site Admin what needs fixing. Then press Save and continue.
Step 2: Your workspace
Choose the tools your local will use. They are grouped by job: Support members, Run local business and Connect members.
- If you are not sure, press Use recommended features. You can change any choice later.
- Turn on only what your local will use this year. Fewer tools means a simpler menu for your officers.
- Under What members can see, choose which parts of the Local Portal members get.
- Check the preview, then press Save and continue.
Step 3: Review and finish
Read the summary. Use Review local details or Edit feature choices to go back. When it looks right, press Finish basic setup.
Finishing saves your setup. It does not send any invitations or publish anything to members.
After basic setup
Local settings (open it from the home page or Local Admin) has a list called Build on your setup. Work through it in any order:

- Brand your communications: set your local's colours and logo in Brand Kit.
- Prepare your Local Portal: press Create Hall to make the space every member joins, then Preview Local Portal.
- Invite your officers and Invite your members: see Invite your executive and members.
- Prepare your CA library: add the articles of your collective agreement that grievances refer to.
Each task has a progress choice: Not started, In progress, Done or Do later. It is only for you, so you can see what is left.
Tell members who to ask
Under the tasks, Who members can ask for help sets the contact members see on the Local Portal Help page. Give a name or role (such as Chief Steward), an email or phone number, and when to reach them. Tick the box confirming the person agreed to be listed, then press Save contact.
Tip: Use a role and a shared email address if you can. Then the contact stays right when officers change.
