Install UnionOps on your desktop
On supported browsers you can install UnionOps as a local app window — no app store, no extra download. Your Brand Kit and Comms drafts stay on this device; Officer Hub case work still needs a network when you are live.
Where install works
Use the apex site unionops.org (not www, and not localhost). Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, and similar) on desktop and Android can show an Install app control after the offline shell registers. Safari on macOS and iOS never auto-prompts — you add UnionOps yourself from Share / File menus.
Chrome, Edge, and friends (PC)
- Open https://unionops.org in Chrome, Edge, or Brave.
- After a short visit, look for Install in the address bar (omnibox), or open the browser menu and choose Install app / Install UnionOps.
- Confirm. UnionOps opens in its own window with the offline shell available for the public pages you last loaded. If Install is missing, check you are not already running as an installed app.
Chrome on Android
When the site is installable, the menu shows Install app / Install UnionOps and creates a standalone app icon. “Add to Home screen” alone is only a browser shortcut — use Install when it appears. Install needs unionops.org with the service worker active; wait a moment and tap the page if the control is delayed.
Safari (Mac and iPhone)
Safari does not show an Install app prompt. On iPhone/iPad: Share → Add to Home Screen. On Mac: File → Add to Dock. There is no automatic banner — adding to the home screen is always a manual step.
What install does not change
- The service worker keeps a thin offline shell for public Comms pages — not a full offline Officer Hub.
- Grievance, bumping, and other hub modules still need a signed-in session and network when you work live.
- Window chrome and install icons follow your Brand Kit primary on this device. After you change colours, reopen the installed app (or reinstall once) if the OS still shows the old icon or title-bar colour.
- There is no App Store or Microsoft Store listing; install is the browser’s own progressive web app flow.
