Local Portal
Follow your grievance
If your union is handling a grievance for you, see its status, the current step, the next date, and the updates and files shared with you.
- Who can do this
- Members with a grievance their local has chosen to share on the Local Portal.
If your union has filed a grievance for you, your local can share its progress with you on the Local Portal. You see what your steward chooses to share, not their working notes.
Open your grievances
- Choose My grievances in the Local Portal menu.
- Each grievance has its own card. The badge shows where it stands: Open, In progress, Escalated, Resolved or Withdrawn.
- Under the badge you see when it was filed, the Current step, and the Next date when something is due.
Read the updates
Updates shared with you lists what your steward has told you, newest first. The newest one is marked Latest.
If your steward has shared a document with you, such as the employer's reply, it is under Files shared with you. Choose Shared file 1 (and so on) to download it.
When a date has passed
If the card says the deadline for a step has passed, do not try to sort it out on your own. Some deadlines can be extended by agreement with the employer, and your steward can tell you what happens next.
What this page does not show
- Your steward's notes, and anything about other members.
- Grievances your local has not chosen to share here. If the page says There are no grievances available in your Local Portal., that does not mean nothing is happening. Ask your steward.
Note: To talk about your grievance, contact your steward directly. Do not post details in a Circle, where other members can read them.
