First week

After Brand Kit: four steps to reach members on boards, social, and a simple website

Do not skip identity. Set union, colours, local number, and logo in Brand Kit first — then use this roadmap. For practice guidance (tone, platforms, trolls), use The Blueprint. For an overview of the hub, checklist, and sources, see Comms Resources.
  1. Union boards

Post a high-contrast notice on workplace bulletin boards. Members who are not on social still need to see meeting times and updates.

    • Choose a notice type and fill in date, time, and location
    • Print letter or tabloid size
    • Post in approved union board locations
  2. Socials

Share the same message on Facebook and Instagram. Use the Blueprint for tone and frequency, and pre-written captions to save time.

    • Read The Blueprint for platform and posting tips
    • Create a graphic with Graphic Maker or Resizer
    • Copy a caption from the library and add alt-text
  3. A website

Give members one link for contact info, officers, and about your local. Download a ready-made template and host it free on GitHub Pages.

    • Fill in about text, officers, and contact email
    • Preview and download the site ZIP
    • Follow the deploy guide to publish
